City Hall and Union of Merchants start a campaign to promote parking in the urban center in which 70,000 tickets will be edited with 50% discount (07/03/2017)

Customers will only pay half for parking their vehicles in the parking lots of Plaza de Colón, Lorca Plaza and Las Siervas.

The initiative is developed annually, from March 2017 to March 2018.

The Councilman of Commerce in the City of Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas, together with the President of the Regional Union of Merchants of Lorca, Juan Montoya, presented this morning the promotional campaign to promote parking in the urban center of the city.

This is an initiative that aims to facilitate the parking of vehicles when making purchases through the town.

Bayonas López explained that this project includes the commercial areas of the Historic Center, Calle Corredera, Carmen San Jose, Avenida Juan Carlos I and Lorca Centro.

The number of businesses that will benefit from this campaign exceeds the hundred establishments.

For its development will be edited up to 70,000 tickets between the months comprised from March 2017 to March 2018. These vouchers will be delivered by the merchants when making a purchase, and will suppose a discount of 50% of the usual rate in the car parks Parking Lorca Plaza, Plaza de Colón and Las Siervas.

It should also be remembered that the parking located in the Alameda de Menchirón has its own campaign, offering a total of 25 tickets at only 20 euros.

The Edil de Comercio has stated that this initiative is the fourth edition of parking tickets that takes place.

It began with the Parking Lorca Plaza, which has always been at the service and at our disposal in how many promotions we have proposed.

Last year was added the parking of the Plaza de Colón, which was an added value to the ongoing promotion.

This year, the Parking of Las Siervas has been incorporated, giving a special boost to the customers of the San José, El Carmen and Jerónimo Santa Fe area, who can make their purchases more comfortably.

The launch of this promotional campaign is configured as an incentive to increase the commercial profile of both the urban center of our city and its neighborhoods.

This is one of the lines of work in which progress has been made by the City Council, and that, in addition to the purely promotional initiatives that take place between the Consistory and the Union of Merchants, will be specifically reflected in the implementation Of the works of integral improvement of Avenida Juan Carlos I and adjacent streets and squares.

This includes installing better lighting, tree placement, sidewalk expansion, and improved paving, among other issues.
