Presentation of the prizes "Equality Man of Lorca 2017", "Lorca for equality" and VI Literary Contest "Women" (09/03/2017)

This year the Lorca 2017 Equal Man Award was awarded to Alfonso Pernías Sala, national police of the UFAM Protection Unit, and José Antonio Giménez Martínez, 1st cap of the Civil Guard of Lorca.

The Scout group Ciudad del Sol and the San José de Calasanz Children's School collected the distinction "Lorca for equality"

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, along with Equality Councilor of the City of Lorca, Eulalia Ibarra, presided yesterday afternoon the emotional institutional act that took place in the Cultural Hall of Cajamurcia to commemorate International Women's Day and in Which were awarded the prizes of the 6th Literary Contest "Women" and the prizes "Equality Man of Lorca 2017" and "Lorca for Equality".

The winner of the sixth edition of the Literary Contest "Mujeres" was the lorquina Rocío González Martínez with her story "Ella", for which she received as a prize a laptop.

The second prize was the tale "Mañana" by Emily Radke, a German resident in Lorca, who received it as a tablet.

The third prize went to the story "Cold" of the lord Pedro David Giner Garcia, who was given a mobile phone as a prize.

This year the prize "Lorca 2017 Equal Men" was awarded to Alfonso Pernías Sala, national police of the UFAM Protection Unit, and José Antonio Giménez Martínez, 1st cap of the Civil Guard of Lorca, for the work they have carried out throughout his Career, always showing a special sensitivity from its position with the fight against gender violence and the struggle for the rights of women.

The Scout group Ciudad del Sol and the San José de Calasanz Children's School collected the distinction "Lorca for equality", for their actions and their social commitment to women trying to change the environment around us to obtain a more just and respectful society in Which properly develop our project of life as people.

Of both entities, it is important to highlight their special sensitivity in the fight against gender violence, participating in an altruistic way with the Department of Equality, and carrying out a continuous and effective coordination in the Campaigns commemorative on women, and fight against Gender violence.

Francisco Jódar, before finishing the act, wanted to "congratulate all Lorca women, because our society and our city are as they are thanks to the effort of all of you."
