Underway the renovation projects of a further thirty streets in the neighborhood of San Cristobal in Lorca (19/03/2017)

The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure and the City of Lorca continue to work on the renovation of streets in the San Cristobal neighborhood of this municipality with the implementation of the remodeling of some thirty more streets.

This was communicated to the neighbors the director general of Planning, Architecture and Housing, Nuria Fuentes, and the Councilor for Works and Services, Eulalia Ibarra, during the meeting they held.

Nuria Fuentes said that "for the regional government the reconstruction of Lorca is a priority and proof of this are the projects that are being promoted from both administrations to the completion of works in these neighborhoods, and that neighbors can enjoy better facilities and more wellness".

The director general explained that "these works represent an investment of 4 million euros and will encourage the creation of jobs in the municipality."

Many of these projects are already awarded and others will be launched shortly.

The works presented to the neighbors consist of the renovation of the paving, replacing it mainly by paving stones, the replacement of electricity supply services, the supply and sanitation network, the construction of a new rainwater collection network, which Did not exist, the burial of services wiring and the modernization of telecommunications services.

Likewise, work will be done on improving the accessibility of these vials and energy efficiency with the installation of LED luminaires in all the street lighting of these streets.

The performances will be carried out in the Gregorio García, Segre River, Júcar River, Tomás Soler, Higuericas, Ródenas, Aragón, Miguel Ángel, Funes, Cayetano Lorca, Berrocal, Colmenar, Charco, Pedro Alcántara, Melchor Navarro, Río Sil , Escalante, Los Veras, Grajalva, García Bolea, Beteta, Juan López, Montijo, Navarro, Calvario Viejo, Almazán, Juan Jiménez and adjacent.

Integral urban renewal

The intervention in these roads is part of a much larger project of integral renovation of the Lorca neighborhood of San Cristóbal, which began in 2007, covers a total of 58 streets and involves an investment by the Community of more than 7, 5 million euros.

The works are financed by the Autonomous Community within the action plan that develops in the city with charge of the European Investment Bank (EIB) loan, and will be executed by the City Council.
