Another 32 unemployed people under 30 years begin a program that will train them as masons and gardeners, among other trades
A total of 15 people unemployed and under 30 years of Lorca, beneficiaries of Youth Guarantee, have rehabilitated the Plaza de San Juan in the city of the sun thanks to a program of the Community that has allowed them to alternate training with Paid employment
Specifically, these young people have been trained for a year in the specialty of auxiliary operations of continuous coatings under construction.
It is a mixed program of Employment and Training subsidized with 163,000 euros by the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, through the SEF, and co-financed by the European Social Fund.
The aim of this type of initiative is to offer not only a work experience, but also a sufficient qualification to the unemployed who do not have it.
During the first three months, these students have received theoretical training on the specialty for which they have been trained, and in the following nine months they have been hired by the City Council, thus completing the eminently practical part of this training action.
These young people now have the opportunity to work as aides for continuous bricklayers, construction painter assistants, building construction laborers and public works foremen.
Coinciding with the inauguration of the works of conditioning of this square of the municipality, these fifteen students today received their corresponding certificate of professionalism, which is valid throughout the country and significantly increases their options of finding a next job.
The event was attended by the director general of the SEF, Alejandro Zamora, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jódar.
Zamora said that "these programs are currently a good formula to boost youth employment with the collaboration of local governments, as young people have the opportunity to train, and municipalities to undertake works of public interest that result in a benefit For its inhabitants ".
A program to improve neighborhoods
Coinciding with the closure of this program, 32 young people benefiting from the Youth Guarantee of Lorca today start a program of the Community with which they will learn different trades from theoretical training and paid work.
This project, called 'Entrebarrios', has a grant of SEF of 350,000 euros, and will allow the beneficiaries to participate in the realization of minor works aimed at improving the neighborhoods of the municipality.
Thus, during a year, they will be formed in three different specialties: auxiliary operations in nurseries, gardens and center of gardening;
Auxiliary operations of rigid finishes and urbanization, and finally, auxiliary operations of assembly and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment.
Low unemployment in Lorca
Prior to the act of awarding diplomas, the director of the SEF met with the mayor of Lorca to address the various programs currently being developed jointly in the municipality.
In addition, during the meeting analyzed the positive behavior of employment data in the locality, where 722 people left unemployment during the last year, which brought unemployment down 11.52 percent.
With regard to job creation, the number of Social Security affiliates increased by 318 people in February, an increase of 0.97 percent and the number of members of the municipality at 32,994 people.
