The PSOE demands immediate action against a flea infestation at CEIP Villaespesa de Tercia (20/04/2017)

Mazuecos accuses the PP government team of their inability to foresee this problem and to act well in advance to avoid that the students of CEIP Villaespesa de Tercia and their families have had to face this situation.

For the second consecutive year, a plague of these characteristics affects the students of this school.

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos has requested the intervention of the heads of sanitary inspection in the consistory to act immediately against the plague of fleas appeared in CEIP Villaespesa, in the hamlet of Tercia.

In this way, the socialist councilor echoes the logical discomfort and concern of parents and mothers of the center due to a situation that, on the other hand, is not new to this educational community, remember that already during the past school year 2015 / 2016, dozens of children were affected by the same problem.

On this occasion, the alarms have returned to jump since during the last days there have been several cases of children who have suffered "multiple stings" by the plague of these parasites.

A "third world" situation that, however isolated, adds "you can not consent and even less in a public center".

According to what he has been able to know, everything indicates that the appearance of this pest is due to the proximity of a farm of cattle located in the environs of the educative center.

Because of this, and because it is not a situation "not very innovative" for the government team of the Popular Party, Mazuecos reproaches the municipal executive for his "error" because of the inability to foresee this problem and to act with due In advance to avoid that the students of CEIP Villaespesa de Tercia and their families have had to be in that situation.

For all this, the socialist councilor demands the immediate intervention of the animal health services of the City of Lorca to carry out the relevant disinfestation actions.

In the same way, they demand that the livestock facility be required to extreme and expand animal hygiene measures to avoid future outbreaks of these insects.
