The performance of the company specialized in the removal of asbestos was superficial and partial, since for lack of time the vertical ducts of asbestos cement were not removed.

Councilman Antonio Meca has informed at a press conference that "we consider ourselves deceived by the company specialized in removal of elements of asbestos that acted on Saturday April 22 prior to the demolition of the Avenida de Portugal building."

Apparently the company merely removed visible and external hazardous elements and bypassed internal asbestos cement pipes.

"We have photos and videos of the demolition that testify that once again the Law regarding the withdrawal and treatment of this carcinogenic material has not been complied with," said the Councilor for Citizens.

This Municipal Group informs that this circumstance will be brought to the attention of the authorities, amplifying the previous contribution in the complaint to the Media Environment prosecutor that they presented previously.

"This municipal group" adds Mecca "does not intend to go against the interests of the neighbors of this building, which have already waited enough, but is fighting for the defense of the health of Lorca and the environment."
