High districts, San Cristóbal and Virgen de las Huertas benefit from a large battery of improvement actions for a total amount of € 3.07 million (09/05/2017)

The Consistory has awarded the interventions of renovation of the streets García Bolea, Los Veras, Higuericas, Beteta, Aragón, Colmenar, Almazán and adjacent, in San Cristóbal, as well as those corresponding to Horno, Santa Quiteria, Painter Salvador Zamora, Puente Bacon and Catcher, in Virgen de las Huertas.

These are improvements financed by the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Development and Culture, in addition to own resources of the City.

The Councilor for Contracting in the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez, has reported that this municipal area continues to drive the construction of Nueva Lorca accelerating the award of important projects.

Martínez Carrasco has anticipated that the contracting service has provisionally awarded the corresponding actions to improve infrastructures in 2 streets located in the neighborhood of San Cristóbal.

It is the Beteta and Aragón streets, whose total improvement will be invested 203,398.58 euros.

In the same process (provisional award) is also the improvement actions that have been projected in the streets Colmenar, Almazán and adjacent to the same neighborhood, which contemplate an investment of 196,978.50 euros.

The residents of San Cristóbal will also benefit from the infrastructure improvement works that have been definitively awarded on García Bolea, Los Veras and Higuericas streets.

It is a battery of actions that contemplate a joint investment of 367.221,47 euros, and that will allow to implement the works that, to date are being implemented.

These actions are benefiting the residents of Escalante, Melchor Navarro, Río Segre, Río Júcar, Río Sil, Colmenar, Almanzán, Aragón, Beteta, Tomás Soler, Los Veras, Higuericas, Grajalva, Ródenas, Miguel Ángel, Juan López , Funes, Montijo, Cayetano Lorca Navarro, Berrocal, Calvario Viejo, Tello, Charco, Serón, Río Mundo, García Bolea, Fray Beato, Pedro Soler, Juan Mínguez, Eulogio Periago and Abellaneda.

The actions in these streets are part of a much larger project of integral renovation of the Lorca neighborhood of San Cristóbal, which began in 2007, covers a total of 58 streets and involves an investment by the Community of more than 7.5 million of euros.

Martínez Carrasco has pointed out that investments in the upper districts continue their progress thanks to the final adjudication of the repair and urban regeneration actions of the surroundings and urban set of the Ermita de San Lázaro, a performance to which the amount will be allocated Of 924,597.43 euros, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Development of CARM.

We are talking about a work to which is added the rehabilitation of the church of San Pedro, also located in the area of ​​the upper districts, which will allow us to recover an emblematic temple for all thanks to an investment of 549,171.11 euros, Of the Ministry of Culture of CARM.

The Councilor for Recruitment has reported that the City Council has definitively awarded the second phase of the urban renewal project of the public space of the fairground and the Virgen de las Huertas neighborhood, contemplating Horno, Santa Quiteria, Painter Salvador Zamora, Puente Tocinos streets And Collector.

This is an ambitious intervention planned in the plan that since the Consistory has been planned for the improvement of this area Lorca.

It contemplates an investment of 837,921.95 euros.

Martínez Carrasco has pointed out that in recent days the Municipal Council has also opened the procedure for the tender for the recovery of the Pósito de Panaderos, one of the most significant buildings located in the historic center, which until a few years ago As headquarters of the Municipal Archive.

We are talking about an intervention that starts with a bidding budget of 241,220.36 euros.

The main objective of this investment is to get Lorca back to make use of a property affected by the earthquakes of 2011, and to continue to stimulate the improvements that the City Council of our city are developing to recover our historic center.

This intervention is financed thanks to the Municipal Administration's own resources.
