The Councilor for Social Services of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, this morning closed the Gypsy Development Plan launched by the Lorca Consistory since November 2016, which has been aimed at 15 families of Gypsy population, with approximately 105 users .

The Councilor for Social Services has explained that in the 6 months that the Gypsy Development Plan has lasted 80 people have carried out training actions focused on the employability and socio-sanitary improvement of individuals, with an average of 3 courses per users, although In many cases 4 actions have been carried out.

In principle, it was expected that only 54 users will receive training, but finally 80 users have benefited, of which 42 users have made one of the 3 editions of the Monographic course on social skills and communication for employment;

30 users have made one of the 3 editions of the Workshop on the use of social networks focused on employment;

29 users have made one of the 3 editions of the Digital Literacy Course through SmartPhone and 32 users have made one of the 3 editions of the Personal and Domestic Skills Workshop.

"In addition to the aforementioned, the training of 8 users in animation, leisure and free time has been complemented by the courses of Workshop for initiation to the Animation and Course monograph of Children's Parties. Itineraries of labor insertion

The actions aimed at improving the employability of the users of the Gypsy Development Plan have been formed by individual interviews of users with job counselors;

Diagnosis of social and occupational employability through the study and classification of the professional profiles of the participants according to their training, work experience, skills, skills and desired work;

Realization and delivery of résumés vitae to all users;

Collective sessions of orientation for the active search of employment, according to professional profiles;

Contact with companies that offer work, according to the professional profiles of users;

Inclusion within the agenda of the training sessions sessions on basic personal skills, professional competence, digital competencies oriented to the search of employment, improve the skills for finding employment online, etc., and educational promotion itineraries.

Working module "Housing and Habitat"

This working group consisted in the assignment of 15 families to a social worker to improve their socio-labor-economic conditions, family follow-up through individualized interviews, home visits to check and report on the habitability and hygiene conditions of the families. Education

School support

The Iniciativas el Gigante Foundation has launched Action 01, called "CLASES ON", consisting of school support and study techniques for disadvantaged children through volunteers of the foundation during Saturday mornings in the social center of Santa María.

The number of beneficiaries has been 31 children.

An intense publicity campaign was carried out to publicize the initiative, both in the neighborhood, door-to-door and by the collaborating schools, through meetings with the heads of studies and directors.

Coexistence Days

Three days of coexistence have been held in the social area of ​​Santa María during the months of January, March and May.

The average attendance was 60 people, and they were about the actions that were to be implemented, while reporting the results that were being achieved with the Gypsy Development Plan.

Days of Leisure and Leisure Activities

In addition to the days of coexistence for adults, there have also been three days of Leisure and Leisure activities during the months of January, March and May.

Two have taken place in the vicinity of the social center of Santa María, and the last one in the atrium of the Church, next to the social housing.

The target audience was the children and youth of this neighborhood, and the average attendance was around 50 children.
