IU-Verdes Lorca will amend the future ordinance of the beaches so that it does not limit the freedoms of the neighbors (31/05/2017)

Gloria Martín lamented that, instead of making an ordinance to sanction the dumping of agricultural waste in the sea, the City is dedicated to curtail public freedoms.

"That Cabo Cope and Puntas de Calnegre be the most polluted point of the Spanish coast does hurt the sensibility and not contemplate a man with the member in the air"

The Municipal Group of United Left-Greens has announced that it will promote amendments to the regulatory ordinance of the beaches of Lorca that the City Council processes.

The councilor of this training, Gloria Martín, has described as "insufficient" the duration of the bathing season, set from June to September, in which the City Council is linked to the cleanliness of the beaches.

Therefore, it will propose its expansion to the months of May and October, in which there is already a significant presence of users and a deficit in cleaning and maintenance, as demonstrated by photographs taken a few weeks ago.

Crusade against nudism

On the other hand, Martin warned that the PP of the Region of Murcia is intensifying its particular and retrograde "crusade" against nudism on the beaches of the coast of Murcia, as shown by the fact that municipalities governed by this party, such as San Pedro del Pinatar Or Mazarrón, to sanction already with fines of up to 3,000 euros through some recently approved ordinances.

"In the case of Lorca the fines would be 750 euros which seems unfair to us since the City Council does not envisage delimiting any space destined to this use, that is to say, it punishes without offering any alternative", explained the mayor of IU-Verdes.

"Lorca has practically deserted beaches even in the middle of August, such as La Junquera, which could be an optimal location to allow nudism without having to condemn those who practice it to considerable fines or to travel to Vera," Martín said.

The same thing happens with pets.

"We understand that the beaches of Calnegre, of a fundamentally familiar use, need more limiting measures regarding some practices," said Martín, who, however, pointed out that in those located in the area of Cabo Cope, less frequented Due to the difficulties of access, the City Council could be "less restrictive".

In that sense, the mayor of IU-Greens recalled that the Consistory has never had serious problems related to the lack of civism on the beaches of Lorca, so he assured that the future ordinance, far from becoming an "authoritarian rule that coarte The freedom of the people, "should serve for the proper conservation of these natural spaces.

In that sense, the councilor of IU-Greens recalled that according to European Environment, Cabo Cope and Puntas de Calnegre is the point with more garbage per linear meter of beach.

"Kilos and kilos of plastics and waste from agricultural activity, that does hurt the sensibility, and do not contemplate a man with the member in the air," he lamented.

For this reason, Martín demanded an ordinance that sanctions the discharges to the coast "that yes is an absolute priority".

Finally, Martín encouraged environmental groups, animalists and citizens linked to the naturist movement, to submit amendments to the text when the deadline for public information and hearing the interested parties.
