The Councilor of the United Left-Greens, Gloria Martín, has denounced the plague of bed bugs that neighbors and traders of Corredera street have been suffering since last May.
Its rapid reproduction and its aggregation in groups, together with its ability to fly, are causing serious annoyances and prejudices to the commercial activity of the zone.
Some establishments have come to fear that they have to close due to health problems.
According to several confirmed to the mayor of IU-Greens, the municipal government team of the PP has been aware of the existence of this pest for at least eight days, without having applied phytosanitary measures to eradicate it so far.
Martín demanded measures of shock and prevention that avoid this type of risk, and that must include the thorough cleaning of the streets that he described as "insufficient" today.
He also lamented the passivity of the Consistory when it comes to applying the municipal ordinances that establish that the owners of plots should keep them in "optimal levels of cleaning from the hygienic and sanitary point of view."
