The mayor has denounced the installation of a prefabricated barrack in San Cristobal school, as, as is known by the entire educational community, these facilities do not guarantee that students are in optimal conditions, bearing leaks, high temperatures in summer and cold In winter, sometimes without toilet (having to leave outside as long as it does) and with continuous faults in the electrical installation.

He also points out that, although the Ministry of Education considers the barracks as a transitional solution, the truth is that experience has shown that once installed, they can remain in the center for more than a decade.

Peñas has expressed his indignation at the installation of this prefabricated classroom for children's education students of that school, arguing that it is not a valid solution for any center, since it places the affected students in a position of comparative grievance with respect to others.

In that line, he said that his political group would oppose this "solution" in any school, but even more so in the case of San Cristóbal school, a center punished by the administration, which has turned it into a ghetto, with a percentage From 80 to 95% of immigrants per classroom, which makes it difficult for the educational development of the classes due to the lack of knowledge of the language on many occasions and the difficulty of the teaching staff to manage a student of many different nationalities and cultures.

Peñas recalls that since IU-Greens a few years ago raised a complaint to the Ombudsman regarding the unfair and disproportionate distribution of immigrant students among public and private Lorca schools, with a very high concentration in neighborhood schools, as well as in The José Robles;

A situation that is not seen modified with the establishment of the single district, since it is the circumstance that students of immigrant origin residing in the neighborhood of La Viña are enrolled in San Cristóbal.
