The Councilor for the Environment of the City of Lorca, Satur Martínez, together with the Coordinator of the Scout Group "Ciudad del Sol", Pedro Enrique Llamas, have reported that both entities have planned a new joint project on environmental awareness that contemplates A collaborative garbage collection on the beaches of the Lorca coast.
Satur Martínez explained that the Department of Environment will coordinate the collection of waste with LIMUSA and the Lorca Scout Group will do the same with the volunteers.
This is an initiative scheduled by the Scout Group Ciudad del Sol on the occasion of the celebration of the world environmental day that is scheduled to be completed next Saturday June 17, day in which will join the Natural Park of Calnegre and Cabo Cope within the first large collaborative collection of garbage that is made in Spain and in which the Department of Environment has provided all the collaboration for the coordination of necessary municipal services.
It can be explained that SEO / BirdLife, in alliance with Ecoembes, has promoted this project at national level with the aim of curbing the consequences of "littering" (abandonment of garbage in public places) in the different Spanish ecosystems.
