This long-distance event is celebrated from the end of the XVIII century to 12 noon, including the participation of representatives of the City Council and the Church

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, presided over from the balcony of the Town Hall the traditional civic-religious act by which from the end of the eighteenth century, on the eve of the Corpus, at noon is interpreted the Ring of Cabildos and the Hymn of the Ministriles since The Capitular Rooms of the Collegiate Church of San Patricio and the balconies of the Town Hall, an event with which is called to the procession that will take place this Sunday, June 18, from 19:45 p.m., with departure in the church Of San Patricio, where previously a mass will be held at 7:00 p.m.

The ceremony began at 12 o'clock with the touch of the ministriles and then the clarineros have answered with their music, repeating this ceremony three times.

The music that is interpreted contemplates the Ring of Cabildos of the Clarineros of the Council and the March of Ministriles, that date of the last third of century XVIII.

These pieces conform the Official Hymn of the City of Lorca since 23 of February of 1994 was approved in Municipal Plenary by the City council of Lorca.

It is necessary to remember that already there were ministriles musicians in Lorca to the service of the Council from Century XVI, whose main function was to attend in the name of the City to the religious ceremonies or other public acts, interpreting its music when receiving and dismissing the Corporation .

The instruments that were part of the ministriles were three chirimías and a sacabuche.

The Council also had clarineros, salaried musicians who were part of the representative procession of the City when it attended ceremonials such as Corpus Christi, Holy Week, Virgen del Rosario, Virgen del Alcázar, Virgen de las Huertas, etc. On the occasion of the Festival Of the Corpus, in the city of Lorca there have traditionally been a number of events, notably the one that takes place with the clarineros occupying the central balcony of the Town Hall and the ministriles, in front, on the balconies of the Capitular Rooms of San Patricio.
