Iu-v demands in full a new school for the neighborhoods on the left bank of the city of lorca (03/07/2017)

The motion also demands from the Ministry of Education of CARM the human and material resources necessary to carry out the extensions and extensions of lines with the appropriate guarantees in the different schools, thus being able to reduce the ratios

The councilor of IU-Greens, Adoración Peñas, will defend next Friday in the Plenary of the City Council a motion with the intention that the local government, and specifically the Department of Education, complain about the Education Ministry of CARM, which is the one that Has the powers to do so, to urgently address the educational needs of Lorca that most concern in the different educational communities of our municipality.

In educational matters we must always anticipate, manage all variables and plan with rigor, and not tackle problems with temporary solutions and forest leap at the beginning of each school year.

For that, fundamentally, should be thought the Department of Education, says Adoration Peñas, and if that role is not performed effectively and efficiently, it is best to give way to other people who know how to do better.

On the one hand, the first requirement that the Councilor of Education should advocate is the construction of new schools where they are needed, without in any case accepting the replacement of the same by the artificial "inlay" in the colleges of Prefabricated barracks.

Peñas points out that we are not worth the argument, which experience has taught us many times false, that they are provisional installations.

There are areas of Lorca, and one of them is the entire left bank of the city (San Cristóbal, San Diego, Los Angeles and Apolonia) that need a new school because of the growth of its population and to avoid overcrowding in Classrooms.

The colleges of these neighborhoods, abounds the councilor of IU-V, and already receive a very high percentage (between 80 and 95% of immigrants per classroom in the school of San Cristobal) that hinders the educational development of classes The lack of knowledge of the language on many occasions, and the difficulty of teachers to manage a student of many different nationalities and cultures, without the educational administration providing for those centers the necessary reinforcements that such situation demands.

A situation that has not been modified, says the councilor, with the establishment of the single district, since it is the circumstance that immigrant students residing in the neighborhood of La Viña are enrolled in San Cristóbal.

On the other hand, and closely related to the above, the councilor of IU-V states that given that the next course is expected to expand lines in ten schools for children and primary of the municipality, and while we have no guarantee of That is done with the resources and supports that must necessarily be in line with this extension of the lines, the City Council must demand from the Ministry of Education of CARM the human and material resources necessary to carry out the extensions and extensions of lines with the necessary guarantees In the different schools, thus being able to reduce the ratios.

Finally, the IU-V motion also includes an agreement aimed at the local government facilitating the inclusion of social and political actors in the Municipal School Council.

It would be a measure to promote citizen participation in order to provide more plural solutions in the analysis of schooling data, in the causes and solutions of absenteeism and school failure, in pupil ratios per classroom or In solutions to avoid prefabricated classrooms in our centers, among other issues.
