Fulgencio Gil explained that "unemployment data for June have shown the good progress of job creation in the municipality. To date we have the best data since 2008. The mayor of Lorca, in this sense, has indicated that "with respect to May, unemployment has fallen by 182 people, falling in all sectors, being the drop of 18 people in agriculture, 13 in industry, 21 in construction And 120 in services, a sector that has received the most significant decrease, thus, in the comparison of the last 12 months, unemployment has dropped in 9 of them, accumulating a decrease since June 2016 of 904 unemployed.
Gil pointed out that "if we look back, unemployment has fallen since 2015 by 1,327 people, 2,350 since 2014 and almost 3,000 since June 2013. As we can see, the decline in unemployment in Lorca is a continuous process and that Produces in all sectors, without affecting the seasonality, so we have to be very happy and value as positive the measures implemented by the City and the Autonomous Community through the SEF.

The Business Initiative Contest "Ciudad de Lorca" celebrates its ninth edition
Fulgencio Gil also reported that "this morning has also been the ruling of the jury of the IX edition of the Contest of Business Initiatives" City of Lorca. "This contest aims to promote and promote new business projects that contribute to economic development And social of the municipality, at the same time that it puts in value the corporate culture and the self-employment is promoted as a labor alternative ".
The Mayor of Lorca explained that "through it seeks to promote and support those initiatives that have a future, which are capable of innovating and bring new benefits and virtues to the local economic fabric, which always impacts on the collective benefit. Ninth edition has been open to participation throughout the year 2016, being able to participate those companies of new creation whose economic activity began between July 2014 and June 2016.
The jury was formed by representatives of Chamber of Commerce, CECLOR and Guadalentín emprende, representatives of UGT and Comisiones Obreras, technicians of the Department of Employment and members of the different municipal groups.
The prizes awarded will be used to finance or invest in expenses necessary for the formation of companies, with a maximum of 50%.
Specifically the first prize is endowed with 6,000 euros, the second with 4,000 and the third with 2,000 euros.
These are generous amounts aimed at supporting these new business initiatives.
But the awards also represent a recognition and an impulse for these new activities that are full of the future and that are representatives of the capacity to undertake in our municipality.
The proposals for the awards have been the following:
1st Prize: PEQUELAND:
Children's Leisure Center for children between 3 and 9 years of age.

2nd Prize: PERANOID (MULTIDUD APP):
Smartphone application that captures movie audios and offers the translation of the same to the selected language in synchrony with the image.
Manager: Juan Bautista Tomás Gabarrón.
It has 4 partners.
It is an innovative system that has the approval of important international producers.
It has also been selected by the European Commission to participate in two prestigious acceleration programs at European level.
3rd Prize: TERRA CONTROL QUALITY MANAGEMENT:
Agrifood consulting and consulting company.
Formed by two lorquinos, Francisco Navarro and Alfonso Mínguez, they have already hired a person besides the administrators.
