The PSOE requests the creation of an Institute of Legal Medicine in the judicial party of Lorca (24/07/2017)

García Jiménez assures that by extension, population and entity, Lorca deserves to have an Institute of Legal Medicine, independent of Murcia, to guarantee a better praxis of forensic legal medicine, that would reduce the delays of its results and that would be to the service of The Courts of our judicial party and of the own lorquinos, aguileños and lumbrerenses.

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, María Antonia García Jiménez has announced that the Municipal Socialist Group will present in the next plenary a motion to request the Government of Spain to create an Institute of Legal Medicine in the judicial party of Lorca.

Garcia Jimenez says that this claim to be led by Lorca socialists, and has the support of the Lorca Bar Associations and Attorneys, is "justice" for our city, because by extension and entity "Lorca deserves to have an Institute of Medicine Legal, independent of Murcia ".

The socialist mayor regrets that, at the time, Lorca was left "off", since, when the creation of the Institute of Legal Medicine in the Region of Murcia was arranged, it was agreed to create it based in the city of Murcia and that this Would have a Subdirección in Cartagena, "discriminating" in this way to the municipality of Lorca and forcing a judicial party as the lorquino, with a population close to 200,000 inhabitants, to depend on the actions and delegations of the Institute of Legal Medicine of Murcia .

According to María Antonia García, this request responds to the "imperious need" that are being observed between legal professionals and citizens to "claim the creation of this service in Lorca" to achieve a better praxis of forensic legal medicine , Which would reduce the delays and waits of its results and that would be at the service of the Courts of our judicial party and of the own Lorca, aquiline, lumbrerenses or of any person that is in our scope ".

In this Institute of Legal Medicine of Lorca, all the functions of the forensic experts who would be under the orders of the Judges, Magistrates, Prosecutors and in charge of the Civil Registry would be developed.

To that end, the Edil assures us, it would also be necessary for the tanatological practices to be carried out in "proper or local premises qualified for the purpose", which is why, at the same time, they propose that in the next Palace of Justice to be built in C / Selgas "to project and provide premises adapted to these practices", while "establishing a forensic pathology service that investigates, by legal doctors, cases of violent or suspicious death of criminality that have occurred in the territorial jurisdiction Of Lorca, including macroscopic examination of the cadavers and the dissection of these samples and their study, so that they do not have to be transferred the remains to the Institute of Legal Medicine of Murcia.

García Jiménez insists that it is necessary for Lorca to count on this service since, among others, there are numerous deceased whose remains have to be transferred to Murcia for its examination, whose delay and waiting, in many cases, forces to delay and lengthen The funeral, making it "unbearable by improper" for the mourners.
