"The Government of Spain has already invested more than 850 million euros in the reconstruction of the city of Lorca after the earthquakes of 2011," said this morning the PP deputy in Congress, Francisco Bernabé, who visited the Municipality accompanied by the parliamentarians of the PP in the Lower House, Isabel Borrego and Javier Ruano and by the senators, Pedro Jose Pérez and Nuria Guijjarro as well as the regional deputy, José Soria.
The leaders of the PP have been received by the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil to know, first hand, the state of reconstruction works of the municipality after the earthquakes and are being financed with state funds.
Bernabé stressed that the investment of the central Executive is added to the regional and local contributions being the total amount allocated to the "Nueva Lorca" of more than 1.2 billion euros.
Endorsed by the figures and the results of the reconstruction has defended that "the governments of the PP demonstrate with facts that are an example of seriousness and solvency in the face of the continuous demagoguery of the rest of political forces".
Among the works visited, there is that of the Church of Santa Maria, which is currently under execution, and those of the Guevara Palace, the Archaeological Museum, the IV section of the Central Ring Road, the Synagogue and the Castle that Have already been realized.
Bernabé has explained in figures that of the 850 million state investment, "365 of them have been contributed by different ministries and another 458 million euros by the Consortium of Insurance Compensation to individuals for the reconstruction of their homes."
As for the regional and local contributions, the deputy 'popular' has specified that the autonomous community will invest a total of 345 million euros and the city of Lorca another 20 million. "
Francisco Bernabé has put in value the firm commitment of the PP for the prompt reconstruction of Lorca since "he has been from the first moment with the municipality" and of which he has said "fell with this sad event and had to raise it".
Also highlighted the "generosity" of the Central Government with a people who has suffered a lot and thanks to this economic push is returning to normal. "So he has reiterated that" Lorca is little by little what he was. "
Actions implemented by the different Ministries
The deputy of the PP in the Congress explained the different actions implemented by the various ministerial departments and has specified aid for the repair and reconstruction of housing and commercial premises where the General State Administration has already paid more than 36 million euros.
He has also said that 32.5 million euros have been earmarked for the construction of the Civil Guard barracks and for various material damages, emergencies and civil protection.
For repair of infrastructure, rehabilitation of historic heritage and areas of urban regeneration have allocated 83.3 million euros, and 44 million have been invested in boosting trade, industry and tourism.
Bernabé has detailed that the Ministry of Justice has provided 83.5 million euros for grants and exemptions notarial and registry and the Agriculture for benefits and exemption in the matter of Water.
For its part, the Ministry of Employment has provided 4.7 million euros for compensation, unemployment benefits and extension of time for the payment of social security contributions.
Likewise, Bernabe recalled that the loan from the ICO to the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia for the payment of the rehabilitation and reconstruction aids provided to date, "is estimated at 41.8 million euros."
To conclude the national deputy of the PP for Murcia has highlighted other budget items, among which has highlighted more than 17 million euros, which include the application of the European Solidarity Fund to Lorca for emergency spending in the Autonomous Community and the municipality, Repair of housing for Defense, drafting of the guide for the promotion of urban construction and support in the processing of aid files or issuance of stamps dedicated to the monumental heritage of Lorca, among others.
