The PSOE demands a solution to the very serious parking problems of the University Hospital Rafael Mendez de Lorca (21/08/2017)

The Socialist Municipal Group proposes, as soon as a definitive solution is not reached, to enable the parking of the Carrasco Municipal Arts Center as a provisional car park and to equip it with 2 shuttle buses that, in a continuous and free way, will transfer the users to the Hospital door.

The deputy spokesman of the Socialist Municipal Group, Isidro Abellán has denounced the very serious situation that are suffering users of the University Hospital Rafael Mendez de Lorca due to the insufficient capacity of the parking lot.

"It is not a novel circumstance", explains Abellán, it is one of the endemic ills that the Rafael Méndez Hospital has had since its construction, and which is now being aggravated by the closure of the private parking lot, which, even without Doing so in its entirety, mitigated the hospital's own parking deficit.

Abellán describes the situation as "inhumane" and accuses the Ministry of Health and the Directorate of the Murcian Health Service of "irresponsible" for the ordeal they suffer daily from hundreds of people to get their vehicle first and then, Pallid "that they have to walk under the terrible inclemencies current meteorological when they go to this hospital center, to the external consultations or to the own hospital;

And therefore, the socialist mayor makes "responsible" to the City of Lorca for not worrying about the health and welfare of users of this center and "do not demand or offer a final solution to this problem."

The socialist official adds that this circumstance is "overflowing and overloading work", in addition, the staff of the hospital's security and control service, since together with their normal functions are being forced to exercise as traffic controllers, Organizing and decongesting the ongoing chaos that occurs daily.

The Socialist Deputy Speaker has stated that the City of Lorca owns municipal land adjacent to the current hospital parking and are being used for other uses, therefore requires the City of Lorca that these are offered to the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Community Of the Region of Murcia so that together with the existing ones allow the construction of a "surface and multi-storey car park" capable of giving a definitive solution to the structural deficit of parking that suffers the hospital complex of Lorca.

Also, Abellán aware of the need to provide an "urgent and immediate" solution, has demanded the government team of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca to enable "provisionally and until you get a definitive solution," the parking Of the Francisco Artes Carrasco Football Stadium as a parking lot for the users and the dowry of two shuttle buses that provide a free and continuous service of transfer from this to the hospital.

The socialist councilor has reminded the PP government team and the current mayor that this circumstance is not new, and that for a long time the PSOE has been demanding a definitive solution to this very serious problem that suffer daily users of public health, As it was reflected, explains Abellán, in the electoral program with which the PSOE of Lorca was presented to the last municipal elections of 2,015, which included this solution for the parking of the Hospital Rafael Méndez and which had the backing of the PSOE of the Region of Murcia to make it a reality, and warns them that "if they are not able to get the solution in these remaining two years of the legislature, this will be one of the first actions that the PSOE of Lorca will be in place after the elections Municipal and autonomous regions of 2019.
