The PSOE returns to report a new wave of burglaries in homes and businesses (05/09/2017)

The Socialists demand the Mayor to comply immediately with the agreement to which he committed, through a motion of the PSOE last June, which forces him to increase the number of Local Police for the benefit of citizen security and working conditions of the agents.

The Vice-Speaker of the Municipal Socialist Group, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has demanded that the Mayor once and for all "take action in the matter" and increase urgently the police presence to put an end to the waves of robberies that continue to occur in our municipality, and which does nothing more than disturb the tranquility of the Lorca.

Sánchez Jódar reminds him that they are fulfilling the "negative omens" he already warned in early summer, when he denounced the consequences that would bring the cuts of the Popular Party during his years of government in the staff of the bodies and security forces, a circumstance that has been aggravated by the inability to anticipate and cover the necessary holiday periods of agents.

The cuts of the Popular Party in the templates feed the sense of impunity among the criminals, while justifiably increase the sense of insecurity and lack of protection among citizens, says the mayor, while insisting on the huge amount of promises breached by the different popular, autonomous and national governments, in matters of citizen security.

The Socialists have learned that in the last few days new burglaries have taken place in homes and shops, more specifically in the area of the old Aguilas road, in the councils of Cazalla and Campillo or in residential Puertas de Lorca de La Hoya and Plaza Jardín de Caravaca road, which join many others happened this summer in numerous districts and districts.

"Our police officers are not responsible for this situation, they exemplarily perform their work with the scarce human and material resources available to them," stresses Sánchez Jódar making the Mayor responsible, adding that he has learned that during the present summer there have been nights in which only a local police patrol, made up of two agents, was in charge of carrying out surveillance tasks throughout the urban area and the 39 districts, but that is, at best, only are two patrols for the whole municipality, so that on many occasions you have been forced to require the collaboration of the Civil Guard to cover the municipal term despite - remembering - "this body also suffers the consequences of the template cuts ".

The Socialist Vice-Speaker insists that his statements are not intended to cause panic and increase the sense of insecurity among Lorca, although this already exists, his intention, says Sánchez Jódar, "is to make the Mayor a reality" and why has shown an alarming lack of concern, demands that once and for all take action in the matter and make effective from the agreement to which he committed, through a motion of the PSOE last June, which forces him to increase the local police officers to benefit public safety and the working conditions of the agents, and thus put an end to 10 years of cuts in staff, not to convene a single seat of police officers, and to be unable even to cover nor even the retirements.
