IU-Greens claims solutions to the demands of the residents of Felí road (11/09/2017)

The councilor of IU-Greens, Gloria Martín, called for road safety for schoolchildren in the area, public lighting so that neighbors no longer have to light up with flashlights and a better distribution of bodies and security forces to the wave of thefts that is suffering in Cazalla and the nearby districts

The councilor of Izquierda Unida Verdes, Gloria Martín, has denounced the lack of interest of the municipal government team of the PP to solve the serious deficiencies that affect the residents of Camino Felí (deputation of Cazalla) and that they were transferred, in writing, the last month of February by its political formation.

Martín said that the new school year begins with a situation of "unjustifiable insecurity" for the 18 children in the area who use daily public school transport to move to the Virgen de las Huertas school.

"They are forced to cross a road that does not have any type of signage that warns of the passage of school children, or with a marquee that protects them from the weather and apart from the traffic. what the bus has to stop in the middle of the road, "said Martín.

For this reason, the mayor of IU-Verdes once again demanded that on this route, stoppages for children's transport should be enabled to offer "maximum security" to schoolchildren in this public center.

"They are aware of this serious lack for seven months, enough time to have done their homework and to respond to a neighborhood petition more than reasonable because the safety of minors is at stake."

Lighting up with flashlights

Gloria Martín has also called on the government team to address the historic neighborhood demand to install street lighting "at least in the most urbanized area" of the road.

"When night falls neighbors have to walk with lanterns because there is not a single street lamp on a road where many young couples live with young children, and also people of advanced age," explained the mayor of IU-Greens.

"It makes no sense that the City Council allows the urbanization of the garden of Lorca and then do not endow the neighborhood with basic services like street lighting," he said.

Five or six steals every night

The councilor of IU-Greens also referred to the wave of robberies that are suffering the neighbors of the deputations of the garden Lorca.

Only last weekend there were a dozen in Cazalla.

"Those affected tell us that the troops of the Civil Guard take more than two hours to appear on the scene because of the lack of staff, they feel unprotected and abandoned," Martín lamented.

In this regard, the council alluded to the Unified Civil Guard Association (AUGC) that recently denounced the lack of "462 agents in the Region of Murcia between Civil Guard and Police," due to "exaggerated austerity policies that have stressed the service public security "in recent years.

Gloria Martín estimated that the deficit of the bodies and security forces of the state is located, in Lorca, around 30 agents.

To the lack of personnel is added a very unequal distribution of personnel in the different points of the municipality.

In this regard, the mayor recalled the closure in practice of the Local Police barracks in districts after a large economic investment or the fact that the Civil Guard in Zarcilla de Ramos is open to public attention two mornings to the week.

"If security in the urban area is not to shoot rockets, in the rural Lorca the shortcomings are clamorous," said Martin, who urged the PP government team to "reopen Ramonete, Almendricos, Purias, La Hoya and Zarcilla de Ramos "and to complain to the Interior Ministry about the increase in the number of bodies and state security forces in Lorca."
