The PSOE asks that students of Bachelor and FP in districts benefit from free school transport (17/10/2017)

The pupils of the post-compulsory education who live in districts and who travel to the city to study, have since October 1 having to pay the daily transportation to their schools due to the difficulties that the Popular Party has put this year to process the application and that it is delaying the granting of the aid.

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos asks that students of Bachelor and Vocational Training can benefit from free school transport, as do all other students of compulsory education.

The mayor says that this way would avoid "problems" as the PP has generated in the City of Lorca during this course, since a change in access to this call, "unpublished with respect to other years and no one understands" , is delaying the collection of traditional discount bonds.

The mayor warned that this change is causing that since last October 1, these students and their families have to face the payment of these trips with the doubts of "who will be responsible for the repayment of the payments of these trips, or if finally they will come to return ".

Specifically, we are talking about the delay in processing and delays in obtaining these discount bonuses, half a hundred students are having to pay up to 6 euros per trip per day, in the case of the inhabitants of Coy , Avilés and Doña Inés;

5'10 euros Zarcilla de Ramos, or 4'30 euros residents in La Paca, which translates into 30, 25'50 and 21'50 euros a week.

The problem extends to the rest of the districts of the municipality that are also subject to this call, such as Almendricos, La Escucha, Purias, La Parroquia, La Hoya, Zarzadilla de Totana, Aguaderas, Marchena, Cazalla, Pulgara, Campillo and Torrecilla

Before this change applied in the current call, the students of Bachiller and Formative Cycles that reside in distant districts, were being scholarship or subsidized by the City council with a system of transport bond that they enjoyed from the 1 of October until end of the course .

Just filling out a form delivering it directly to the bus, along with the justification of being enrolled in a study center in the city center, would enjoy their transportation bonus "without more paperwork and paying one euro a day".

Mazuecos does not understand the advantages that the Popular Party has been able to find with this change, and reproaches the mania of the popular ones "to touch the things that go well to make them worse".

The amount of documentation requested this year, coupled with the unexpected and late procedure to subsidize travel, is causing great discomfort in these students Lorca, and more when in the bases of the call have discovered that it has a field of a single term , so they fear that they will have to face this paperwork and all this discomfort again, mid-course.

From the PSOE they are convinced that the future of this problem is solved with a preparation of a Regional Plan of School Transportation in such a way that students of non compulsory education like Bachelor and Formative Cycles are beneficiaries of free school transport like the students of compulsory education.

Mazuecos ensures that young people who decide to continue their studies after compulsory education can not be subject to their being unable to continue their studies because they are living in rural areas or far from the study center.
