Lorca grows at a monthly rate of 100 inhabitants reaching a total population of 94,591 people, being 51.4% men and 48.6% women (10/11/2017)

Of the total population, 78.1 percent are Spanish, while the rest are made up of 82 nationalities, including Morocco with 10.24 percent of the total population, Ecuador with 4.6 percent, Romania with a 1.6 and Bolivia, Ghana, the United Kingdom or Bulgaria that exceed 0.5 percent

The Councilman of Statistics of the City council of Lorca, Francisco García, has done this morning an analysis of the population of the municipality.

Specifically, the provisional population, without the impact of casualties that the INE will send in the monthly file corresponding to the month of October, is 94,591 inhabitants as of October 31, 2017, which means that so far this year there has been there was a growth of 1,078 people.

Of these data, 51.4 percent are men, a logical aspect in a receiving society of immigration, and 48.6 percent women.

Francisco García has indicated that "of the total population 78.1 percent are Spanish, while the rest is made up of 82 nationalities, among which Morocco stands out with 10.24 percent of the total population, Ecuador with a 4.6 per cent, Romania with 1.6 and Bolivia, Ghana, United Kingdom or Bulgaria that exceed 0.5 per cent.The spatial distribution shows that the resident population in the urban area is 64.5 per cent, leaving the rest distributed among the districts, being the most populated La Hoya (4,086 hab), Campillo (3,946 hab), Tercia (3,057 hab) and Cazalla (2,909 hab.) and the least Culebrina (9 hab) and Puntarrón (5 habs) ".
