The councilor of IU-V in the City of Lorca, Peñas Adoration, has dismissed as irresponsible the attitude of the City Council in relation to the state of ruin that presents the House of Guevara in Lorca and the priorities that the local government is giving other properties that they are already restored and present deteriorations that are less obvious or dangerous than the aforementioned property.

The mayor of IU-V argues that in the Plenary on November 27 the government team rejected a proposal of IU-V that required compliance with current legislation on protection of the Spanish historical heritage and the implementation of measures that are contemplated in the Law for those protected properties that are in that ruinous state and that contain, as it is the case, elements declared "well of cultural interest".

The PP is outside the legality in this case, and only after the motion of IU-V last Monday they begin to move something and say that they will urge their owners to comply with their "duties of conservation", when that should have been done decades ago, and also warning (which they do not do now) that if that communication does not have immediate effects would be subsidiary actions by the administration at the expense of the owners.

Discarded for the time being the application of the Law in the matter of expropriation because the PP does not dare, and given that it has not complied with the programming of the Master Plan for the Recovery of the Cultural Heritage of Lorca, which contemplates that this House would receive a injection of public money amounting to 400,000 euros distributed in the annuities of 2013 and 2014, IU-V requires that culture and historical heritage technicians be immediately brought into the building to make an accurate assessment of the state of the same and to undertake with urgency those works necessary to avoid that the deterioration can ruin in a definitive and irreversible way the most outstanding patrimonial elements of the House of Guevara: the roof, the singular turret that culminates the building, the peculiar moldings of plaster, the interior paintings or the shield BIC of the Guevara family on the cover.
