The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, chaired this morning the jury of the Business Initiatives Contest "City of Lorca" whose tenth edition has started today.
We must remember that this biannual contest aims to promote business initiatives and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit as a generator of wealth and employment to contribute to the welfare and improvement of the socio-economic environment in the city of Lorca.
The First Edil has announced that "after listening to many companies and addressing their suggestions, we have introduced a notable improvement in the bases to allow the participation of more entrepreneurs who also deserve recognition for their ability to innovate, so the contest will no longer be exclusive for companies that have less than two years, but also those who, even if they have a longer seniority, have bet in the last two years on innovation in the development of their production processes or marketing channels, will be able to participate ".
Thus, the newly created companies whose start date of activity is between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2018, and who have not developed the same or similar activity during the twenty-four months, will be able to access the new call. prior to the date of July 1, 2016, as well as companies of any type of sector and economic activity created previously, but that have incorporated innovations in their productive processes or commercialization routes into their businesses since July 1, 2016 until June 30, 2018.
"In this way," said the Mayor, "will be eligible for prizes, quantified in 6,000, 4,000 and 2,000 euros, traditional companies that have been driven by new generations of administrators, as well as those who have decided to bet on innovative ways of entrepreneurship ".
The Mayor has chaired the Local Employment Board that has taken stock of the year 2017 and has announced those actions in this area to be carried out by 2018. In this regard, Gil stressed that "in the absence of closing the data of employment with the balance of the month of December, which is usually an optimal month for hiring, we can say that it has been a good year for the creation of employment in our municipal area, because so far there are 300 less unemployed people who make a The creation of employment is constant and a cycle change has been consolidated, which has to continue in 2018. In this sense, we must highlight some of the programs launched by the Consistory with the collaboration of other administrations such as Entrebarrios (32 students), Lorca Eficiente (32 students), Flora (32 students), the first phase of the Youth Employment Lorca, the specialization courses or the Youth Guarantee courses, which in addition to training the participants have repercus

"But we can not settle and facing the new year we have planned a broad agenda on Local Development by the Lorca Consistory that will focus on young people without training and long-term unemployed, so that both the ones can complete a training that opens the doors of the labor market, in this sense we have to highlight the ambitious Youth Employment Project Lorca that in total will offer 294 training places with an economic grant for the participants, assuming a total investment of 1.8 million of euros".
The First Edil pointed out that "we have also requested the Autonomous Community, through the SEF, the collaboration for the implementation of a new Mixed Employment-Training Program that will be called" Ágora ", intended for 32 students. certificates of professionalism of domestic plumbing and heating-air conditioning operations, auxiliary assembly operations and electrotechnical and telecommunication installations in buildings, auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centers and auxiliary operations of rigid finishes and urbanization. 12 months and participants will receive the minimum interprofessional salary ".

Finally, regarding the new actions in employment, the Mayor has announced that "with the Autonomous Community we will launch three training actions that will allow their students to obtain professional certificates, in particular 60 seats for cleaning open spaces and facilities industrial activities, auxiliary activities of warehouse and auxiliary activities of commerce ".
