The Spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, and Secretary General of the Lorca socialists, Diego José Mateos has ensured that his party will focus all its efforts in 2018 to know how to close, among all, the wounds of the earthquake that six years later are still open.
Mateos expects 2018 to be the year of the completion of the reconstruction of the city and of the solution to the problem that many affected face by the return of aid.
During the traditional informative breakfast of the Lorca socialists with the local media, Mateos stressed that 2017 has served to continue consolidating the PSOE as the alternative to a Popular Party that faces, in 2018, its "last year of management in Lorca ".
Regrets that 2017 was marked negatively for Lorca by the "forced relief" in the Mayor's office, which, due to internal disputes, has paralyzed municipal management.
Mateos says that the close work of his party "neighborhood by neighborhood, district by village" is allowing them to develop a "tailor-made" project with which to lead the alternative to the Popular Party after almost 11 years.
During 2017, the Lorca socialists have continued to lead the work of control to the government, from a "close, critical and constructive" opposition.
It has been "more than necessary" in a year in which the PP has shown its "political exhaustion", and the proof is in the "paralysis" suffered by major projects, such as the Round;
the chaos in which the city has plunged due to the bad planning of the works, or the systematic abandonment towards the districts "the forgotten ones".
Mateos regretted that the last demonstration that the PP has made of his "little commitment to Lorca" is the rejection that, together with Citizens, have made in the Regional Assembly against the proposals that the PSOE has made from the perspective of "improving Lorca and prioritize investments. "
PP and C's, in their "pact of crumbs" have rejected investments for Lorca aimed at improving health and alleviating the embarrassing waiting lists.
With its "no", PP and C's have rejected the construction of the new health center in the neighborhood, which was scheduled to include a second emergency service for Lorca, necessary after the closure of the San Diego Emergency .
In addition, PP and C's have rejected investments to build the long-awaited underpass in San Antonio to "unclog" the daily traffic collapses, and that the PSOE "does not renounce to continue fighting, until it is achieved".
Popular and Citizens also joined in the Assembly to reject the increase of personnel in Rafael Méndez;
the construction of a new school in La Campana;
investments to improve access in Almendricos or the construction of a kindergarten in the district, or improvements in roads such as Cuesta del Mesillo, Malvaloca or Almenara, in Campillo.
With their vote against, PP and C's also blocked the construction of the Lorca-Caravaca highway, vital according to Mateos to improve the communications of the municipality.
