The "Lorca Art Project" initiative brings art to the Plaza de Abastos de Lorca with the aim of embellishing urban spaces of a commercial nature (28/12/2017)

The graffiti artist Jandres has created a large work in the rear access to the Plaza de Abastos through this initiative launched by the City of Lorca and the Union of Local Merchants with funding from the General Directorate of Commerce

The Councilor for Commerce of the City of Lorca, Mari Carmen Ruiz, along with the President of the Regional Union of Merchants, Antonio Martínez, have visited a new action that is part of the "Lorca Art Project" initiative, LAP, a project aimed at uniting the commerce, urban art and youth groups through the beautification of the facades and blinds of different urban spaces.

We must remember that this initiative has the subsidy of the Integrated Plan for the Dynamization of Retail Trade launched by the General Directorate of Commerce.

Ruiz recalled that "during the month of September they carried out the first actions that were a revulsive for the historic center of Lorca." The murals of the shops of the Alamo Street had a great reception, as also happened with the great painting in a facade of Lorca Plaza Now a new work is added, also of great dimensions, located in the access to the Plaza de Abastos ".

The City Council has pointed out that "the pleasure people asked to participate in this campaign and therefore City Council and Merchants Union are committed to bring urban art to this important commercial space for our city with the aim of invigorating it and delivering added value. It has been created in the area of ​​the back door that gives access to the Plaza de Abastos from the vicinity of the Poncemar Parking ".

The creator of this work has been the Litoral graffiti Jandres, who despite his youth has a great background in the field of urban art and has already collaborated with other campaigns designed to beautify the city through graffiti.

Ruiz wanted to congratulate "Local Union of Merchants for this initiative and the Autonomous Community for their financial support to make it possible."
