The Socialists expect 2018 is the year of the end of the nightmare that hundreds of Lorca are living for the management of the earthquakes of 2011 by the Mayor and his government team in the City of Lorca and the demands of the CARM for the justification of the aid received for the reconstruction.

The Socialist councilor in the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro has demanded the Mayor of Lorca to stop looking the other way and set to work once and for all ending the nightmare that, even today and more than six years later, hundreds of Lorca are still living due to the terrible management of earthquakes and the aid received for the reconstruction of their homes.

Navarro said that last June a meeting was held in Alcaldía with representatives of all parties with municipal representation, Mr. Mayor and the Councilor responsible for the management of earthquakes, Saturnina Martinez, to analyze and make proposals in relation to the requirements that CARM had started sending to those affected by the earthquakes that had received aid under RD 6/2011 and that had to justify the destination of such aid.

In this meeting, according to the socialist mayor, from the PSOE was put on the table that the hundreds of casuistry that existed in regard to the justification of aid could be summarized in three scenarios:

Those who have repaired their homes and keep all invoices and proof of payment.

Those who have repaired their homes and for different reasons do not have invoices or proof of payment.

Those who for various reasons have not made the repair of their homes.

For Navarro it is clear that those affected in the first circumstance expressed have nothing to fear, he says, all they have to do is present these supporting documents, as they have already done most of them and those who are in the third case and that according to the Socialist Councilman are a minority, they have to return it.

The problem, in the words of Navarro, falls on those who are located in the second case, "who have repaired their homes and for various reasons do not have the invoices or proof of payment", and for which it is essential to enable the tools necessary to end the ordeal that they are living by the demand of the CARM in the justification and return, where appropriate, of the aid received for the rehabilitation of their homes;

houses that, according to Navarro, have been repaired with the aid money but their owners do not have the corresponding supporting documents.

From the PSOE, explains the socialist mayor, it was proposed that in the same way that in his day the damages were assessed by technicians of the Autonomous Community to quantify the compensation, it is checked again by these technicians if it has proceeded or not to repair , and that the contribution of documentary is replaced by this inspection, proceeding to the closure of the files in the cases that prove conclusively that the house has been repaired.

The Socialist Councilor points out that at the aforementioned meeting, both the Mayor and the rest of the attendees thought the proposal made by the PSOE was suitable, and assures that Mr. Mayor Apostille was going to start working on that line and that even would request the CARM that the technicians who carried out these inspections be Lorca;

Remembering Navarro also, that later this proposal was taken to full municipal in July 2017 by a joint motion of all groups in which the agreement was unanimously approved in the same terms.

Today, more than six months later, Navarro denounces, the "famous letters" demanding justification and, in his case, return of the aid continue to arrive, the Mayor of Lorca has not done anything to give a solution to this problem, leaving everything in the drawer agreed at the meeting held in June and the agreement approved at the July plenary.

Therefore, the PSOE, requires the Mayor and the government team to get wet once and for all, get to work on this issue and demand that the CARM put in place this "fair proposal" endorsed by all municipal groups in full, to begin to conduct inspections in homes and proceed to the closure of files ending the ordeal that hundreds of Lorca are living who see, as more than 6 years after the earthquakes, fail to turn the page and shelve the one that without a doubt it has been the greatest misfortune that Lorca has had in the last years and the nightmare for a disastrous management that lasts more than six years.
