The PSOE again shows its concern about the paralysis of the Round and the rejection of the PP at the lower step for vehicles in the San Antonio roundabout (09/01/2018)

The Socialists will ask for explanations in the special plenary session on the status of the works that will be held on the 16th at the request of the socialist councilors.

Mateos assures that the null planning in the works has supposed and continues supposing an authentic circulatory chaos, inconveniences to neighbors and losses to retailers.

The spokesman of the PSOE, Diego José Mateos has returned to show his preoccupation by the paralysis of the project of the Central Round.

Remember that section I of the Round is awarded, but the works are paralyzed several months;

Section II is in the process of being awarded for 18 months and Section III "does not have any financing".

In addition, he regrets that the underpass for vehicles in the San Antonio roundabout proposed by the PSOE was rejected by the PP and Citizens in the regional budgets.

Mateos recalled that this problem is due to the "null planning" of urban regeneration works.

Ensures that the Central Round should have been "priority" in order to have an "alternative to traffic" while the works of Juan Carlos I, Avenida Europa or Alameda de Cervantes are being executed.

The Socialist responsible has returned to regret that the "null" planning that the PP has made of the works has plunged Lorca into a "traffic chaos", intensified at Christmas.

In this sense, Diego José Mateos has once again insisted that if the works financed with the EIB have to be completed before December 31 of this year "it is very difficult for the evacuation or central round to be completed, since the stretch I, which was awarded after a long process of more than 15 months, has been paralyzed since the summer works to modify the project, without knowing anything to date.

From section II, Mateos has stated that "the file has been processed for more than 18 months", the "paperwork", since the filing of bids was opened in June 2016 "without having been awarded to any company".

"Taking into account that the execution period is 12 months, it will hardly be finished before December 31st, which means that the maximum term granted to complete the works is not met", he assures.

In worse situation is still section III of which, he warns, "there is no project yet", and for which "there is no budget," for which "we are very afraid", he assures that this section will not be carried out. time and form. "Mateos warns that because of this paralysis" EIB financing could be lost and therefore leaving the evacuation stem unfinished. "

Mateos has made special reference to the underpass for vehicles at the San Antonio roundabout they propose.

For Mateos, this work is "unavoidable and indispensable".

Remember that the PSOE has been asking for this project since 2015 "and is systematically rejected by the PP".

In this regard, has held that more and more entities that join the proposal of the PSOE, as employers through the employer CECLOR, but regrets that the PP and Cs voted against in the Regional Assembly to not include this project in the regional budgets.

Mateos has returned to denounce the "knot of circulation" that this point means in San Antonio.

"A bottleneck, which causes endless traffic jams and is the logical termination for the evacuation round."

For all this, remember that in the Plenary of the next day 16, monographic on works and proposed by the PSOE, will ask again that the Mayor and his councilors to clarify the circumstances that affect both the 3 sections of the pending round and the step lower for vehicles in San Antonio.
