Open the deadline to participate in the VII Literary Contest Short Stories "Women" organized by the Department of Equality to raise awareness about the elimination of prejudice (02/02/2018)

Up to February 23 you can send jobs between one and two pages long on one side.

The prizes will be a laptop, a tablet and a smartphone, also establishing a second prize for the Lorca best ranked

The Councilor for Equality of the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez Carrasco, has announced the opening of the deadline to participate in the VII Literary Contest Short Stories "Women" that is celebrated on the occasion of the commemoration of March 8, International Day of the Working Woman, and whose objective is to raise awareness about the elimination of prejudices, promote equality and sensitize the population.

Martínez Carrasco pointed out that "the works may be submitted from 10 am on Saturday, February 3 until 10 am on Friday, February 23, accepting, in the case of postal items, those envelopes with postmarks of February 23. The stories will have a minimum length of one folio and a maximum of two folios, on one side only Unsigned, under the escrow system, with only one motto or title, which can be presented by email to concejaliadeigualdad@lorca.es, where two documents will be sent: one with the submitted work and another where the name and surname of the author, DNI, postal address, contact telephone number and e-mail are recorded, and can also be submitted by certified mail to the Department indicating on the envelope " VII Literary Contest "Women" (Alameda de Cervantes, n ° 30, Building CDL, 1st floor, Lorca, CP: 30,800), sending two copies of the narrative and a smaller envelope

The mayor recalled that "with this competition we want to put literary creation at the service of equality, addressing those issues that affect women and defending equality from all points of view." Therefore, the theme of the work should always be related with the role and situation of women in any field: family, work, gender violence, education, etc. "

The best story will receive as a prize a laptop, the second classified will get a tablet while the third will get a mobile phone.

A special second prize will also be given to the first local classified, as long as no resident participant in Lorca has obtained any of the first three prizes.

The jury will be composed of María Victoria Sánchez Andújar, former president of the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users and writer;

Alicia Rodrigo Carrasco, president of the Association of Widows Virgen del Alcázar and retired teacher;

Antonio Ortega Fernández, director of the IES José Ibáñez Martín and writer;

José Tomás Ríos, professor of the IES Prince of Asturias;

Pedro García Navarro, retired teacher and former director of the San Fernando School, and the officer of the Department of Equality María Ángeles Aragón Aguirre and María José Morales Sánchez.
