The PSOE denounces that the PP has plunged the neighborhood of San Pedro into a third-world state (05/02/2018)

Socialists put a voice to the residents of San Pedro affected by years of municipal abandonment, where apathy has taken over most streets and street furniture to the point that fewer and fewer neighbors live in the neighborhood.

They denounce that the neglect of the PP causes that the City council of Lorca is not complying with its own ordinances and incurs in lack of public health since it is incapable of cleaning and cleaning up lands that are municipal property

Marisol Sánchez, deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca has denounced the "total abandonment" that the Popular Party maintains towards the neighborhood of San Pedro.

The mayor says that the comprehensive renovation needed by the neighborhood must go beyond the "placement of cobblestones" that has been limited to the Popular Party during its more than 10 years of government.

The regeneration posed by the PSOE should be directed, primarily, towards the improvement of lighting, elimination of aerial wiring, the cleaning of lots and the solution to the parking problem.

Improvements in order to improve the aesthetics of this area of ​​great tourist potential and, of course, to guarantee the well-being, health and safety of the neighbors.

Within the round of visits that the PSOE has been carrying out in neighborhoods and districts, the Socialists have recently inspected the state of San Pedro, hand in hand with their neighbors.

Thus, they could see the "numerous and serious deficiencies" in lighting, lack of security, cleanliness and deterioration in the elements of urban furniture.

This morning, and in view of the worrying situation, the councilor of the PSOE has presented in the register of the City of Lorca more than a dozen requirements addressed to the Mayor to "immediately" come to the area and take over once to solve the high degree of abandonment that presents the neighborhood that "concerns neighbors and alienates visitors".

They assure that the system of public lighting is "very deficient" and worries the neighbors in a way.

Streets like Las Alcázar, La Poza, Perro, Sol, Tejeros or Altamira, among many others, have a "defective" lighting system and others, such as Señor de la Carrera or Atrio de San Pedro "reach the point of not having lighting any".

The mayor has cited "dozens" of lots that urgently need to be "cleaned, fenced and cleaned".

Sanchez Jódar ensures that the City of Lorca is not complying with its own ordinances, and incurring serious misconduct, being "unable" to take charge of those plots that, being their property, accumulate garbage and are not even fenced, as This is the case of the lots on Calle Alcaraz or the one near Plaza del Pipi.

In addition, they denounce numerous deficiencies in the pavement of the streets, as in Galdo street, as well as the need to complete the project of burying the wiring, whose pipes are "uncovered" since 2010, when the pre-installation was made.

Rafael Andreu, a resident of San Pedro, assures that the state in which San Pedro is located is an "authentic pity".
