The City Council gets an extension of the project "Young Employment Lorca" (15/02/2018)

The project, which has an investment of more than 1.8 million euros, represents the most ambitious commitment in the history of the municipality in terms of training for unemployed young people.

At the moment its phase I is developed, and in April II will begin.

The Councilor for Employment and Local Development in the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, reported that the Department of Local Development and Employment is developing the project "Young employment Lorca" subsidized by the European Social Fund, within the framework of the Employment Operational Program Juvenile, aimed at the sustainable integration of young people in the labor market, in the context of the National Youth Guarantee System.

This call was made by the General Directorate for Relations with the Autonomous Communities of the Ministry of the Presidency and for the Territorial Administrations.

The objective of this project is to improve the professional qualification of the beneficiaries, through the realization of training actions and the realization of work practice in real work environments.

The beneficiaries receive a monthly grant of € 200 for training assistance.

The ongoing program includes a total of 29 initial training actions that last between 4 and 8 months.

The first phase of the project began on December 4, with the following training actions:

Basic operations restaurant bar.

Auxiliary operations assembly and maintenance of microcomputer systems.

Auxiliary activities of commerce

Arrangements and adaptations of garments and articles in textiles and leather.

Health care to dependents in social institutions.

Promotion of free time educational, child and youth activities.

Local tourist promotion and visitor information.

Locksmith

Embroidery in silk and gold.

The Edil de Empleo explained that in total 104 students are currently being trained and we can anticipate that the second phase of the project will begin next April and a series of training actions will be carried out that will enable training for 152. It is about the following:

Auxiliary operations for furniture and wall upholstery.

Arrangements and adaptations of textile and leather garments.

Embroidery in silk and gold.

Auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and gardening centers.

Recovery of degraded areas.

Restoration of furniture, gold and polychrome.

Maintenance of spaces and public roads.

Auxiliary operations of continuous cladding in construction.

Plumbing.

Painter of buildings.

Basic kitchen operations.

Basic operations of restaurant-bar.

Auxiliary hairdressing services.

Auxiliary operations of assembly and maintenance of microcomputer systems.

Informatic security.

Geriatric assistant.

The Local Development Edil has announced that the General Directorate for Relations with Autonomous Communities, as proposed by the Lorca City Council, has approved an extension of the project, including 15 new training actions and increasing the number of students in 136, so that the total of training actions would rise to 44 and the total of students to 392. The training actions corresponding to the extension are the following:

- Trade Dependent

- Administrative and general services

- Office Assistant

- Tourism Assistant

- File assistant

- Assistant to museums

- Assistant of archeology

- Sociocultural Animator

- Dynamization of leisure activities

- Locksmith

- English B2

- French B2

- Teaching vocational training

- Promotion and socio-educational intervention with people with disabilities

- Informatic security

It should be noted that the total amount of this project amounts to € 1,873,453.40, with a grant requested from the European Social Fund of € 1,721,516.30, while the contribution of the City is € 151,937.10

Special training for hospitality activities.

In the first phase of the project "Young employment Lorca", among other training actions are developing certificates of professionalism of "Basic kitchen operations" and "Basic operations of restaurant-bar".

This project is subsidized by the European Social Fund, within the framework of the Youth Employment Operative Program, aimed at the sustainable integration of young people in the labor market, in the context of the National Youth Guarantee System.

The training actions have a duration of 5 months, each one of them.

During the first 4 months, the students, 16 in total, receive the specific training of each certificate of professionalism, both theoretical and practical.

This training is being carried out at the "Hacienda Real los Olivos" facilities.

The fifth month, students will practice in real work environments.

To this end, the corresponding collaboration agreements with companies have been signed:

- Restaurant "La Cava"

- Cafeteria-Restaurant "Amaltea"

- Cafeteria "Hemerot Ovalo"

- Restaurant "Frankfurt"

- Café-bar "Sibarita"

- Tavern "La Cepa"

- "Mesón Lorquino"

- Hotel Spa "Jardines de Lorca"

- Restaurant "El Camino"

The monitors that are taking charge of the training are Ignacio Fernández de Campinum Mulero and Soledad Morales Parra (basic kitchen operations), as well as Patricia Ruano Valera and Ramón Reigadas Gómez (Basic operations of restaurant-bar).
