More than 40 Lorca in situation or risk of social exclusion benefit from two training actions of social skills set in motion by the City Council (22/02/2018)

The first has corresponded to two Social Skills courses that have been aimed at beneficiaries of the Social Services System;

while the second, the INTEGRA Program, has the objective of contributing to the social-labor insertion of the participants through training in those skills that allow them to relate in a way more adapted to their social environment

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, has closed this morning two training actions that have been carried out in our city and which have benefited 43 Lorca in situation or risk of social exclusion during the past year and the first months of 2018.

Sandra Martinez has reported that "the first of these training actions has corresponded to two Social Skills courses that have been aimed at beneficiaries of the Social Services System, and whose selection was attended by technicians from both the CEPAIM Foundation, a training institution, and The Department of Social Services has aimed to give people with social skills deficiencies a small boost for their social and / or job insertion to give them the opportunity to know the resources that Lorca has and acquire a series of skills that allow them to function with greater autonomy and facilitate the path towards their social incorporation ".

The Councilor for Family and Social Welfare added that "the courses, in which 26 people participated, 13 in each group, began on October 9 and ended on February 15. These were taught from Monday to Thursday at 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in order to be compatible with the school schedule and accessible, therefore, to people with minors under their care, receiving a scholarship for their completion ".

Martinez, on the other hand, explained that "the Department of Social Services, during the period from March to December 2017, has developed a training program called INTEGRA, intended for people belonging to groups in situations or risk of social exclusion. it is part of the socio-labor integration activities developed by this area of ​​municipal management and is co-financed by the Murcian Health Service. "

The Edil of Family and Social Welfare has indicated that "the INTEGRA Program objective is to contribute to the socio-labor insertion of the participants through training in those skills that allow them to relate in a way more adapted to their social environment, thus facilitating a correct integration in society and in a future work environment.This project also aims to develop new forms of intervention, enabling some of the people who have previously made the Social Skills Course, to complement the training received through the development of other more occupational activities for their professional future ".

Sandra Martinez, finally, has indicated that "17 people participated in the same, 8 in the form of gardening and 9 in the mode of maintenance janitor or kitchen assistant who have developed their training in municipal facilities or in different NGOs. entities with which a collaboration agreement has been signed (Fundación Poncemar, Residencia San Diego Foundation, Apandis, ...) It should be noted that the INTEGRA 2018 Project will soon be launched, which will also end in December and the that will benefit, at least, a total of 12 users of Social Services ".
