IU: "The PP lied to the residents of San Diego where in the old SUAP pediatric consultations will be implemented instead of a Point of Continued Care" (23/02/2018)

The councilor of this training, Gloria Martin, believes that the arguments to close such facilities in their day were "gross excuses" not to invest in the health of Lorca and maintain a continued attention in the area, while continuing to inflate profits to companies private sanitariums at the stroke of concerts

The Councilor of the United Left, Gloria Martin, has requested explanations to the PP Government team about the adequacy of the space occupied by the Emergency Service of Primary Care (SUAP) in the health center of San Diego to house the five pediatric consultations , that are distributed by several floors of the building.

Martín recalled that, in 2016, the PP made an excuse to close the San Diego SUAP that, according to "prevention and quality reports", the facilities did not meet the minimum conditions of "dignity" that health care requires for professionals and for patients and that had "deficiencies" due to "lack of space, ventilation and privacy".

"If there was not room for two medical consultations, which was what the SUAP of San Diego had, how do they intend to put five of pediatrics?" Asked Martin, who considered that the arguments to close those facilities in his day were " gross excuses "not to invest in the health of the Lorca with the maintenance of continued attention in the area, while continuing to inflate benefits to private health companies" to blows of concerts ".

Martín has demanded that the reports referred to in his day be made public to justify the closure of the facilities and the one that now accredits that they are valid to relocate the pediatric consultations there bearing in mind that there was talk of "lack of healthiness".

He also demanded that after the reform, this space serves to house a Continuing Care Point (PAC) of Primary Care "that is what the neighbors really need" and, in addition, the commitment that was adopted, unanimously, in the Regional Assembly in 2016. This would ensure coverage of health care during evening and night hours without the need for users in this area to travel to Sutullena.

On the other hand, Martin recalled that Lorca needs a new SUAP "to alleviate the emergency of Rafael Méndez University General Hospital" and that it is also a promise of the local government of the PP and a commitment adopted by the Regional Assembly.

He also claimed a new health center in the neighborhood of San Cristóbal, for which the City Council has been looking for land for several years, which he described as "lack of interest" and "management capacity".
