The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has ratified this morning the full support of the City Council to the residents of the town of Puntas de Calnegre with the shared goal of maintaining their homes.
To this end, the First Edil and the neighbors held a working meeting yesterday at the Ministry of the Environment with the presence of the General Director of Sustainability of the Coast and the Sea, Raquel Orts.
The Mayor, who has been accompanied by the President of the neighbors affected by this matter, Juan de Dios Martínez, has affirmed that the objective of all the parties, with the City Council at the head, is to find a real solution to the neighbors after the judicial confirmation of the demarcation made in 2005. This is not a question other than helping the neighbors, and whoever seeks something else is wrong.
It must be clear that this problem was generated by a judicial decision, not a political decision.
In fact what we are doing now politicians is to find a solution for the neighbors that prevents in any case the demolition of houses.
I can anticipate in this sense that the Ministry discards any kind of measure in this regard, since among all of us we have been able to transfer the special sensitivity and uniqueness that exists with the town of Puntas, something they have welcomed constructively.
Fulgencio Gil has indicated that it was the first time they were received in the Ministry, regardless of political debates that have not borne fruit.

Fulgencio Gil has clarified that a hypothetical inclusion in the annex is not a solution, since it does not meet the required conditions, and those who have proposed this know it perfectly, so they are trying to deceive the neighbors.
Only the houses located outside the shore of the sea could do it, but they would have to buy their houses back.

We must point out that none of the villages included in the aforementioned annex presents dwellings on the shore of the sea (on the beach), something that does occur in the case of Puntas.
