The deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has returned to denounce the illegal dumping of sewage that continues to occur on the public channel of the ravine of the Madrońo, in the Lorca area of ​​Las Terreras.
Sánchez Jódar regrets that, in 11 years of government of the Popular Party in Lorca, the only solution they still offer to the residents of Las Terreras is the dumping of sewage into the bed of a ravine.
A problem that, for years, is against the well-being of neighbors and against the quality of the environment.
A year and a half ago, the PSOE informed Aguas de Lorca, Segura Hydrographic Confederation and the Lorca City Council about this "irregular" situation, through several writings with which the Socialists demanded the initiation of the necessary investigations to to know in what circumstances they are causing these discharges and to look for a solution.
At that time, the Popular Party only responded that "they were still looking for financing" to carry out the connection works that have to channel the sanitation of the Las Terreras site with the Turrilla treatment plant.
However, since then, "not a penny has been invested or a gram of land moved" to channel the sanitation of these waters and stop this "environmental attack" that puts in check the neighborhood welfare in Las Terreras.
The mayor again warns that the solution to this problem is to accelerate the construction of the sanitary sewer of Las Terreras, planned for years, for connection to the treatment plant of the River Turrilla.
This need is not only revealed by the PSOE.
The urgency to undertake the cleaning and purification of water, and the installation of a sanitation collector is included in the set of measures planned for the horizon 2016-2021, within the considerations of the Hydrological Plan and Management of Risk of Floods of Segura , as stated in an agreement of the Local Government Board of June 2014.
Sánchez Jódar does not understand that the PP takes "year and a half" looking for funding while it is "continuous" the withdrawal of funds from the EIB loan, granted for the reconstruction of Lorca, to be used to repair roads or the construction of roundabouts outside Lorca , with money, insists, "from Lorca and for Lorca".
From the PSOE, they believe that if you have to be supportive, first be with the districts.
Above all, to recognize the effort that the residents of the districts understood what had to be done to allocate all possible resources to the reconstruction of the city, devastated by the fateful earthquakes of 2011.
