In the project for the construction of a new platform for the Murcia-Almería LAV, in the section between Sangonera and Lorca, "ADIF contemplates that the AVE highways enter the city through the Apolonia neighborhood and continue on the surface and shielded until the end of the section at the height of the Vereda de La Palma, in the vicinity of the Sports Complex Felipe VI ", so the planned double route, which will circulate mixed traffic of passengers and goods," will go on surface and not buried as lorquina society claims ".

In this sense, the modification of the project of section I of the Central Round "has undoubtedly facilitated the ADIF technicians choosing to extend the platform on the surface with a double shielded road to the current urban areas of San Diego, Avenida de Europa and Apolonia, which will be collapsed, and the areas of future expansion that the current General Plan of Urban Planning foresees in Tercia ".

David Romera has indicated that in the High Speed ​​project between Sangonera and Lorca it is planned to undertake large complementary infrastructures such as 10 viaducts and the suppression of all existing level crossings (20 will become higher passages and 5 lower ones), but regrets that "do not contemplate the burial of the 0.8 km that run between the Central Round and the Felipe VI Complex", which is going to suppose to his understanding "a major historical error" that will be paid by the residents of San Diego , Avenida de Europa and Apolonia that will see how their neighborhoods will be strangled forever.
