The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the councilman of Youth council of Lorca, Joaquin Ruiz, today visited the summer camp held in the shelter Calnegre tips in Lorca, where a group of fifty young people between 14 and 17 years carried out environmental education activities and sports.
These young people, from Guipúzcoa and La Rioja, living in the camp on the 1st until July 10, during which various activities carried out environmental education and anthropology, and environmental pathways, workshops on recycling and reuse of materials sporting activities such as beach football, beach volleyball, aquafitness, water activities and orientation games, astronomy workshops, journalism and characterization, as well as animated games.
Veronica Lopez said that "young people participating in summer camps have the opportunity to conduct activities in addition to live together and share experiences with other young people."
In total, over 500 young people will participate in organized camps this summer, half of them come from the Region of Murcia and the other half from other Spanish regions.
In addition, the youth of the region are able to attend the activities taking place in nine communities: Cantabria, Asturias, Castilla y León, La Rioja, Castile-La Mancha, Basque Country, Navarra, Galicia, Aragon.
The camps are for youth aged 12 to 17, with a duration of 10 to 14 days and during this time, do sports, nautical, sea and nature, environmental as well as multi-adventure, animation, and English.
The facilities that will accommodate these activities in the Region of Murcia will be the High Performance Centre Infanta Cristina (RAC) on the beach in Los Narejos Calarreona Youth Hostel in Eagles, the hostel Calnegre in Lorca and the Youth Hostel in El Valle La Alberca, Murcia.
The camp will end on August 26 and their prices range between 216 and 560 euros.
Summer Youth campaign 2010, the Institute of Youth intended 419,000 euros, of which Mediterranean Fund provides 47,000 euros.
They also assist the Youth Council of the municipalities where they develop these camps.
