From Area 3 Management of Health wish to clarify several inaccuracies on the criticism this morning by the PSOE in a press conference.
We also wish to express our surprise and disbelief at these critical alarm, which this year has not been any problem due to lack of beds, even during the usual peak increased demand for services (usually by respiratory processes) which often occur during winter .
The clarifications are:
1) First, it is false to mention the availability of 175 beds Medical Center Virgen del Alcázar (they are 177), the reality is that the concert literally expressed by sections of the hospital stay is limited to a maximum of 12 beds for health care of patients with acute processes.
However, the use of a greater number of hospital beds by levels of stay may be made in cases of recognized health need and always with the permission of the General Direction of Economic and Employment.
2) It is false that users of the Health Area III are a total of 300,000, the number of users in this area, as the database population is 181,379 in June 2010.
3) For medical specialties, currently there are some to which only serves in the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, center of reference in which the user would be entered if necessary.
In any case since the Area 3 Management of Health invite all political parties to avoid using a subject as sensitive as health care as a political weapon.
In addition we invite you before going to the media to disseminate data or information on this subject, the contrast with this management, so would avoid giving wrong or misinterpret certain figures.
We express all from the conviction that politicians, as public servants have an obligation not to cause alarm and avoid unnecessary tension.
