Lorca less transparent the Town Councils of Spain (26/07/2010)

Socialist Councillor Isabel Casalduero today lamented that the city of Lorca suspended in transparency during the tenure of Mayor of the PP, Francisco Jodar.

Referred to the study Casalduero Transparency Index of the municipalities (ITA) 2010, which produced the third consecutive year the corporation Transparency International-Spain.

The ITA is a tool to measure the level of transparency to citizens and society in the Spanish city that evaluated the 100 largest municipalities of Spain through an integrated set of 80 indicators.

In its overall assessment study shows that the municipality Lorca is "the worst level of transparency in the period between 2008 and 2010."

According to the study, Lorca ranks 80 of the ranking, "well below the other two municipalities in the region have also been studied."

Specifically, Cartagena is in Murcia as 31 and 63.

Regarding the specific analysis areas and in regard to the transparency of the information of the municipal corporation, the city of Cartagena is ranked Murcia 36 and 44.

Meanwhile, Lorca ranks 90 "well below the average, municipalities have displayed in the report," said the mayor of the PSOE.

To Casalduero this is a serious setback to the communication policy of the government team of Francisco Jódar that "has been characterized from the first day by sectarianism and manipulation."

In the field of public relations with the city of Lorca is in post 89, while that of Murcia is the tenth and the port city 24.

In relation to economic and financial transparency Lorca is also lower than the average of the study and is, with low 37 points in a sad position 78.

This shows, according Casalduero, "the lack of transparency" of the consistory Lorca in economy, as well as suspend "is a long way from the overall average of the report, which is 60 points."

This contrasts with precisely the promise of "transparency" and "efficiency" Jódar.

In this regard, Casalduero said that "if something we denounce the socialists during this time is the opacity of Jódar and their inability to manage and grow Lorca", which is now proven through this study.
