Jódar only provide tax relief to Chinese companies (27/07/2010)

The spokesman for Economic Affairs and Council Member of the PSOE, Isidro Abellán, lamented that the PP is only going to apply tax credits to businesses in China.

And yesterday the Municipal People's Party in Parliament rejected the motion in which the Socialists demanded that such facilities be extended to all companies seeking to implant similar volume in the municipality.

In the same motion the PP also rejected a study on the economic and social consequences of the implementation of the Special Zone of Chinese investment in the municipality.

During the recent visit of a group of Chinese businessmen to the municipality, the Mayor, Francisco Jodar, issued an agreement with them whereby the City agrees to provide preferential policies for enterprises in the Zone, such as discounts of up to 75% Tax on Construction, Installations and Works (ICIO) and Business Tax (IAE).

In addition, in connection with the Special Investment Zone Chinese whose construction is planned in the El Churtal (La Tova), the municipality is obliged to provide technical assistance and mediation in relation to public safety, residence permits and visas.

Jodar has also committed to creating a free trade area, to make it easier for Chinese banks to open branches and brands as businesses in the area can enjoy the preferential policies and subsidies approved by the Government of Spain.

To Abellán is "inconceivable" that Jódar not willing to be as "complacent" with other companies of similar or greater magnitude of nationality other than Chinese.

As an example, stressed that the PP mayor refuses to Lorca farmers that promote municipal slaughterhouse that is willing to provide Asian entrepreneurs.

He recalled that the future slaughterhouse supra involve an investment of 40 million euros and the creation of 400 jobs.

However, the PP has rejected any tax benefit to the society while it has committed to reduce by 15% and IAE ICIO Chinese companies have planned an investment of just three million euros.

For Economic Affairs spokesman PSOE mayor's attitude is "unlikely", "insulting" and is all a "provocation" for local businesses.

Abellán said "Jódar should be the only mayor in Spain to put the interests of foreign companies over entrepreneurs in their own municipality."

Abellán harshly criticized the mayor of PP is not able to defend local entrepreneurs, while Jódar said "do not know what he does" and warned that the "favorite" mayor by companies of a certain nationality can lead to consequences "dire" and "irreversible" to the business of the municipality.
