A monumental

The current urban settings around the Plaza of Spain began to arise in the sixteenth century, when the city began to expand outside the city walls.

In the eighteenth century completed the steps of the Collegiate Church of San Patricio and added a second body to the building that now houses City Hall, the old jail.

Thus, the Plaza of Spain was set by the council, the Chapter Houses, the Collegiate and several family homes.

Similarly, the Plaza del Caño began to define their current provision in the sixteenth century, with the granary of the Bakers and the Casa del Corregidor, headquarters today are Municipal Archive and the courts respectively.

In this space, which takes its name from the source that supplied water to the population Lorca, is the front side of City Hall.
