The Youth Department of the Municipality of Lorca offers five new international youth exchanges, through its Office of Transportation (12/08/2010)

The mayor of Youth has reported that more than 40 youth have participated in this program since May in Bosnia, France, Latvia and Germany, although still available four exchanges with more than 30 seats for Romania, Bulgaria, Germany and France.

Youth Councillor of the City of Lorca, Joaquin Ruiz, has informed this morning of the international youth exchange campaign is offering the Mobility Office located in the Oval Informajoven "is being a success," because since its inception in May to date, more than 40 youth have participated in these international meetings, combining non-formal education methodologies with cultural visits in other countries.

Ruiz explained that "until now young Lorca visited Bosnia, France, Latvia and Germany, which have addressed issues such as migration, multiculturalism, human trafficking and democracy."

However, the council has invited quines interested in participating in these activities "to enroll in one of four new interchanges planned for the months of September and October, with more than 30 seats available."

In this regard, the council has indicated that the following exchange will take place in Izbiceni (Romania), from 1 to 8 September, where discussion on intercultural and youth can experience firsthand the culture and customs Romanian family accommodation the region.

This activity was followed by another from 4 to 13 the same month in Sofia (Bulgaria), in which the audience, mainly fans of music and photography, may participate actively in the Balkan Youth Festival, a festival of Balkan music that held in Sofia during these dates.

In addition, 12 to September 19 may meet young Lorca in Berlin with other U.S., Canada, Germany, Romania, Latvia, United Kingdom and the Netherlands in a meeting which has as its main theme of European citizenship.

For its part, Marseille (France) will be from 2 to 10 October, the headquarters of a youth about traditional games as repositories of values and personal self which is the continuation of another exchange that took place last year on the same subject.

Finally, the Youth Council of the City of Lorca held from 12th to August 19th its own international exchange of young people in the hostel Calnegre under the title "Culture make us."

Main topics are the culture and creativity and with young Lorca involve young people from eight other European countries.

All these exchanges are funded by the Youth in Action Programme of the European Union, managed by the Youth Institute program and tries to encourage mobility of young people in Europe, mutual understanding between young people from different countries, active citizenship, solidarity and tolerance.

The costs of board and lodging and local transport are covered at 100% and travel 70%.
