Councilman Internal Affairs, Education and City University of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, explained that "for nearly three months this summer 17 students from six universities are conducting Spanish training practices in different facilities and municipal services, to they can gain experience to improve their employability. "
Peñarrubia stressed that "depending on the scope of municipal services the City has responded to the requests of students who have requested, which meant an increase over last year.."
Students from the Universities of Murcia, Cartagena, UCAM, Valencia, Granada and Alicante are the beneficiaries of this experience to perform tasks of their university training under the guidance of a local tutor.
"Since the City Council intend to help the university Lorca to know the working world and to enrich its curriculum, both those who are trained in the region as those who have moved out of our region to make his professional future," he added Peñarrubia.
Studies are attending this university, thanks to which they are doing internships in both the City Council as the Planning Department, ranging from careers in Public Administration and Management, Library Science, Architecture, Industrial Relations, the Diploma in Tourism or engineering Public Works technical, industrial, and technical architecture.
To carry out these practices the university appoints a guardian for the student and the Consistory to another, which are responsible for ensuring the proper discharge of the functions and objectives of the agreement signed by both bodies.
The departments of Trade, Employment, Education, Construction, Tourism, Planning, Libraries and Contracting are the services that these students have the opportunity to meet the daily work of public administration.
