413 students have benefited from ten other training activities to obtain the official certificate issued this year by the Department of Health.

The Councillor for Health of the City of Lorca, Antonia Lopez, has reported that "during the next quarter the Consistory lorquino plans to give five new courses to obtain food handler certificate, which will bid for up to 250 students ".

Lopez explained that the first of these training activities is the most in demand for catering the specific (targeting cooks, kitchen, waiters, ...), to be conducted on 13, 14 and 15 September from 16:00 to 18 : 00 hours, to which will follow the retail and horticultural products (warehouses, ...) 25 and October 26 from 9:30 to 11:30, and butchers and meat products and bakery and confectionery , cakes and pastries on 8, 9 and 10, from 9:00 to 11:00 and 16:00 to 18:00 hours. "

Antonia Lopez explained that "however, before the end of the year is expected to take back new calls, depending on demand with these courses are mandatory for work in the hospitality industry, baker and butcher, among others."

Those interested in participating in these courses should contact the Health Department with a photocopy of your ID and pay the corresponding fees (15.7 euros).

The mayor of Health has stated that "these five new courses are added to the ten already given so far this year, catering, 7, 2, horticultural products and a retail store, of which 413 people have benefited ".

Lopez has argued that "food handling courses are part of the broad range of courses offered by the City Council to improve the employability of Lorca. For this reason two of the courses already completed catering for students were given different programs of the Department of Employment and one to be held in collaboration with the Youth Council. "

Antonia Lopez said "in recent years both the supply and demand for municipal courses has been increasing and in 2008 there were 12 courses for 552 students and in 2009 18 courses for 710 people. In 2010 it expects to end the year With more than 800 food professionals trained in these courses. "

The objectives of these courses provide basic knowledge about good habits related to food handling and facilitate the provision of the manipulator certificate, proof required for training in this area.

The persons holding the food handler card dated after February 11, 2002 have to do a refresher course from 4 years and then every 2 years.

Are the same courses that make people want to get the license for the first time, the only difference is that they do test.
