The new building, 2158.3 m2 is built on a municipal plot of 830 m2, staring at the ground floor a new library and an auditorium with a capacity exceeding 150 persons, while the top floor headquarters Municipal Band.
The Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Lorca, Rosa Medina, presented this morning by the municipal construction project of the new building with three floors lower in the zone of "Cat Crossing", which will house the School of Music and Fine Arts, and the seat of the Municipal Band.
Medina explained that the 2158.3 m2 of the new building will rise on a municipal plot of 830 m2 and distributed between the two wings of the building, which together form a central courtyard inside.
Rosa Medina explained that the ground floor is devoted to common areas, so it will include an exhibition hall, meeting rooms, offices, a new municipal library (which will be added to the network that we have substantially increased this term), two files ; municipal offices, a photocopying service, secretarial, male and female toilets, which like the rest of the building will be adapted for people with disabilities, and an auditorium with capacity for 130 people seated, expandable capacity if the panels are folded sidewall spacers and access.
Both the first floor and the second has a similar distribution, as on the right side referred to the offices of the Municipal School of Music and left the Municipal School of Plastic Arts.
So on the first floor will be built six classrooms for individual instruments like piano, flute, clarinet, among others, in addition to three other classes for groups of different sizes.

The second floor includes four classrooms for groups, many other individual for trombone, horn and flute, one for percussion and other instruments for different instruments.

Finally, the third floor is set to host the Municipal Band, so it will have a rehearsal room, a locker area for members to put their belongings and store instruments.
The estimated budget for this project, including writing, directing, and executing supply is 1.5 million euros.
