The Regional Centre of Blood Donation informs donors of the Health Area III of Lorca that from next September 1 Center Blood Donation located in Santa Rosa de Lima, on the 5th floor, adjust your schedule in order to increase blood donations.
The new opening hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 14:30 hours and the center will be closed Tuesday as the mobile units will travel to the councils of the Shire of Upper and Lower Guadalentín as well as various health centers in the area.
The director of the Regional Centre of Blood Donation, Dr. Vicente Vicente, explained that the objective of this initiative is to increase the rate of donations in the population and raise public awareness that "reservations are essential" in hospitals to cope possible incidents.
In addition, Dr. Vincent recalled that "people who come to donate to Santa Rosa de Lima will have two hours free parking at San Vicente."
This measure is meant to facilitate parking for donors during the blood collection process.
Vicente said that all blood types are needed and encouraged all those over 18 years to donate blood.
Also stated that during 2009 there was no alarm in the region hemoterápica thanks to the solidarity of the population, but added that "further work is needed in that line."
