94 artisans from Murcia, 14 other provinces and eight countries will participate in the Craft Fair of the Region (13/09/2010)

The Minister of Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marín, today introduced the XXVII Craft Fair of the Region of Murcia (Feramur) with the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lorca, Eusebio Abellán, and the director of the show, Gregorio Gonzalez, who will feature a total of 94 registered artisans from the region, 14 provinces and eight countries.

This showcase of regional crafts will take place between 23 and 26 September in an exhibition space of 8,000 square meters in the Santa Quiteria Fairgrounds.

Park visitors, to admire, acquire and enjoy the products of artisans in 130 booths, enjoy live demonstrations and a children's area.

Salvador Marin said that "at the XXVII edition of Feramur have managed to combine the best of traditional craftsmanship with the latest techniques in developing innovative products that make every day a greater number of people who opt for quality crafts to decorate your home with unique pieces or enjoy genuine knowledge of food artisans. "

Also, in addition to efforts to promote the craft with which this sample has one of the most important in Spain, the artisans have the opportunity to network with other creators and the public to keep abreast of what stakeholders demand and be more competitive.

In this regard, the Minister stated that "from the regional government supports the sector with business and promotional tools to combine the rich tradition and innovation in its products and achieve international marketing."

In terms of participation, artisans have confirmed their attendance of 16 points in the Region as Yecla, Caravaca de la Cruz, Abarán, Ricote, Bullas, Molina de Segura, Las Torres de Cotillas, Murcia, Sewer, San Pedro del Pinatar, The Union, Cartagena, Totana, Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras and Eagles.

Also, Santa Quiteria workers also host La Coruña, Gerona, Barcelona, Salamanca, Madrid, Toledo, Cuenca, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, Sevilla, Granada, Almeria, Valencia and Alicante, as well as other countries Uruguay, Mexico, Turkey, Morocco , Thailand, Indonesia and Senegal.

These workers belong to 36 crafts, 11 food and six offices of Serbs.

This wide range, as well as outreach in the neighboring provinces and the distribution of 100,000 bonds from 50 percent in the discount of the entrance, will encourage the arrival of thousands of visitors to the fair.

Live demonstrations and workshops

In addition to the wide range of crafts, the fair includes a wide range of simultaneous activities such as live demonstration of the potters of the Association of Friends of Clay, a mosaic workshop, the work of Antonio Alarcos esparto or lace work Association of Friends of Bolillo of Lorca.

The Craft Fair of Murcia Region was inaugurated on Thursday 23 September at 12:00 hours, being open from then until 14:30 pm and afternoons from 16:30 to 22:00 hours.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours will be from 11:00 to 14:30 and 16:30 to 22:00.

The entrance fee is three euros.

This initiative is part of the outreach work of craftsmanship that made the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, through the Directorate General of Commerce and Handicrafts, in collaboration with the municipality of Lorca, Cajamurcia and the Chamber of Commerce of Lorca .
