The socialist candidate for mayor has said that such promises are not fulfilled affect the loss of public confidence in the political class and called for "more serious, more responsible and not mislead voters."

The PSOE's candidate for mayor of Lorca, Manuel Soler, today criticized the mayor, Francisco Jodar, the PP has not met his "campaign promises star" of the riverside arch Tiata and build a flood on the same and create the central ring round the city.

In a press conference, Soler recalled the promise of building Jódar that round with a budget of 26 million euros if he won the 2007 elections, lambasting the project is not even started a few months to complete its mandate.

The socialist candidate for mayor noted that there are "obstacles" to implementing the project as there is a mutual commitment to the Segura basin (CHS) and the Community of Irrigators of Lorca, to provide land to the Town Hall although it remains to settle the issue of ownership of them.

The only caveat "said Soler, is to establish a system that allows us to address the maintenance of canals that run along the promenade.

Moreover, said, "Francisco Jódar have our hand out and have our collaboration."

In addition, Manuel Soler recalled that there is a tripartite committee between the City Council, CHS and Irrigation Community to resolve the issue "that the Mayor does not call for months."

Manuel Soler has urged the mayor to continue the project, which was considered "interesting and very necessary for the municipality" and therefore requested that the 2011 budget include items autonomous for its implementation.

Moreover, Soler has announced that the electoral program which concur to the local elections will include commitments for traffic congestion in the city including the construction of at least two ring roads.
