Lorca City Council has arranged for tomorrow, October 12 to mark the Columbus Day, a ceremony commemorating the National Day of Spain and homage to the Spanish flag, to be held in the Plaza de Colón in the city.
As explained by the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, the event will begin at 11:00 hours and will consist of hoisting the national flag to the strains of the anthem of Spain, "a double pride for the entire city as it was precisely a Lorca, Bartolomé Pérez Casas, who composed by King Alfonso XIII, based on arrangements of the Grenadier March.
