The first town in the plains located Argaric

The village of El Rincón Argaric is a plain site in the culture of the Argar (2000 - 1500 BC) owned by the Autonomous Community of Murcia since 1986 and opened as a Cultural, by resolution on 24 November 1980 with the rank of Archaeological Site, for its special significance in the Bronze Culture in the Region of Murcia and the need for protection.

The archaeological excavation of these remains was motivated by the discovery in 1977 of four burial cists bottoming out after making a farm.

The first two excavations were co-directed by professors at the University of Murcia Javier García del Toro and Maria Manuela Ayala Juan.

Professor Maria Manuela Ayala took over management of the archaeological excavations from 1979 to late nineties, six houses and twelve documented burials (9 cists and 3 polls).

The Councillor for Culture said "this site was the first town Argaric plain and the one who led the systematic survey of villages in search of this nature. Today the greatest concentration of these villages are located in the municipality of Lorca, while another good example of a site located on a piedmont plain or the site of the Cypresses, currently valued as archaeological park in the Polideportivo Municipal de Lorca, which bears some similarities to the site of Almendricos Corner. "

Recent work for recovery were carried out in 1999 by the Autonomous Community of Murcia.

Rosa Medina has stressed that "this investment is in addition to comprehensive program of recovery of historical heritage that the City is running throughout this term, as is the recovery of the high churches and medieval walls, creating an archaeological park in the castle, the enhancement of the Via Augusta, the restoration of the War Theater, the Collegiate and the Palace of Guevara, among other projects.
